Vernon Active Living Centre

The Vernon Active Living Centre will replace the City of Vernon’s existing aquatic facility with a modern, inclusive destination that supports community health, wellness, and year‑round activity. The centre brings together aquatics, fitness, sport, and social spaces under one roof, creating a welcoming environment for users of all ages and abilities.

Aquatic amenities include an 8‑lane 50‑metre pool, permanent spectator seating with capacity for event expansion, a training and teaching pool, a leisure pool complemented by sauna and steam rooms, a ninja‑cross course, and wave‑ball features. The facility also offers a wide range of hard‑surface and multi‑purpose spaces, including gymnasia for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and pickleball; a running track; fitness areas; yoga and dance studios; an art programming room; and kitchen facilities to support community events. A central community living room serves as an informal gathering space and social hub, reinforcing the centre’s role as a focal point within a large multi‑use park. Designed with a campus‑style response, the facility integrates shared transportation and team bus areas and is positioned to support future growth. Developed through a collaborative IPD process, the project emphasizes right‑sized programming, cost certainty, and holistic decision‑making to ensure long‑term operational success and community value.
