Lá:léms Ye EverGreen Student Residence is a six‑storey student housing facility at the University of the Fraser Valley that adds 398 beds and a range of community and cultural amenities to campus. Developed to strengthen student life and support UFV’s long‑term growth, the project re‑examined the original business case to deliver a more holistic living experience, one that integrates seamlessly with the existing Lá:lem te Baker housing, campus fabric, and surrounding community while prioritizing safety, operability, and long‑term maintenance.
Delivered through an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model, the project is guided by core values of integrity, inclusivity, community, and excellence, with deep engagement from university leadership, students, and Indigenous partners. The residence creates a “community within a community,” balancing privacy and personal wellbeing with vibrant shared spaces for learning and social connection. Targeting LEED Gold, the project reflects a broad commitment to sustainability, ecological, social, and cultural, while honouring Stó:lō Temexw and reinforcing the idea of home as a place of belonging, learning, and resilience.
