The ninth-floor office renovation in downtown Edmonton provides the Group2 Edmonton Studio with expansive views of the downtown core and river valley and more efficient open studio space to expand their business. Guests exiting the elevators are greeted in reception with views of eastern downtown through the glazed walls of the boardrooms. An enlarged photo of 1960s downtown Edmonton covers the elevator bank and references the inspiration for the studio’s retro decor. Guest access to washrooms is provided via an inner corridor that screens the open studio beyond.
Bike racks are provided in the corridor space to encourage alternative transportation options for staff. Benching style workstations in the studio facilitate co-worker connections and collaboration and reduce stratification. Multiple meeting areas are provided to further encourage collaborative interaction and offer different environments from lounge seating and small work tables to a whiteboard wall. Bright turquoise tiles animate the kitchen area which is furnished with a large dining table to serve staff lunches and gatherings.
