A new K-9 school for the Chappelle East community in south east Edmonton is being designed using Integrated Project Delivery. The school will provide education to Kindergarten through to grade 9 level with a base build for 900 students. The 8 Modular Classrooms in the original Alberta Infrastructure program have been removed and replaced with an expansion of the core school of 8 Classrooms. The IPD Team identified elements of site design that focused on accessibility, student safety, ease of traffic/bus access, and the importance of regulating parent drop-off issues. The team engages with EPSB on a weekly basis in the IPD Big Room to ensure decision making is aligned with the school board’s project goals.
