The Edmonton studio Row for Kids team managed to raise $6,448 dollars! This contributed to the $130,000+ total from all the teams combined! This money is split 75-25 between the Stollery Children\'s Hospital and the Edmonton Rowing Club respectively. Thanks to all who contributed to the team!

The team had a strong showing overall; posting some strong race times. Unfamiliar boats meant an equipment malfunction for one of the qualifying races, which unfortunately meant missing out on the final. However in the final race of the day, the team posted a 3:05.54 which would have been good for third in the finals, and was the 5th best time of the day (of 52 race times). As 2010 passes and we reflect on the past year, we are grateful for the many opportunities we enjoy. This year at Group2 we celebrated our 25th anniversary; a milestone we know is due in large part to the relationship we share with you.
At Group2, we have felt it important to show our thanks in a meaningful way; something that would have a lasting impact. A few years ago we began giving to an organization called A Better World.

Based in Lacombe, Alberta, this organization is run entirely by volunteers, who seek to reduce poverty and human suffering in countries around the world including Africa.

Over the past three years, Group2’s donations to A Better World total $28,000. The funds have contributed towards building a primary school in Male, Kenya, and a pedestrian bridge in Nyangajo, Kenya. The bridge linked a community together and provided safe passage where there wasn’t any before. Male’s primary school was expanded in 2010, with three new classrooms for a total now of nine classrooms to accommodate the 450 students attending the school.
Group2’s commitment to the Global Community will continue. We are looking at projects to help the African people we’ve come to care about, by providing access to clean water and better sanitation.
